Well hello there! Thank you for stopping by my little home on the interwebs!
Who is Caitlin? Hm…well. I am a gal who loves coffee, sunshine and all things “fun” and exciting. I am an accidental entrepreneur with a Masters in Education and a Special Education teaching career. This photography journey has been amazing. I started the business the same year I got my special education certification and first teaching job in early intervention. Through the years, my photography has grown and evolved. It has allowed me to take long maternity leaves with my daughters. It has introduced me to some of the most amazing people in the local community and in the world!
In 2015, everything changed. I created a photo series and people noticed. It went viral! Check out the excitement here– world-wide press, television and blog interviews, and most importantly, connecting with women and men all over the world who felt in some way United We Feed had affected them positively. Magical!
At the end of 2015, when all the dust settled from United We Feed, I made the decision to leave my studio so I could match my schedule more closely to my family’s, which had changed significantly once my daughter entered elementary school.
They say when one door closes another one opens, and how true in this case! I got a book deal with Amherst Media! Insane! A year later now…
Photographing Motherhood is now available for pre-order on Amazon!
In a series of un-related and related events (I call it floating down the river of life, working hard and enjoying what you manifest), I was offered a new job in the spring of 2016 and took it. I returned to teaching, but this time in my own community. It was a big switch, but prompted me to take a break from booking sessions. All of a sudden, for the first time in 10 years, my weekends were FREE! I could stay in and have coffee with my husband! I could read a book while my daughters painted! We could be spontaneous! I also had a good amount of time to write my book, so it worked out perfectly.
I never announced I was closing my business or I was not scheduling, but I did notice some of my return clients booking with other local photographers. I was worried at first, but then I realized it was life happening as it was supposed to, and it was perfect. Fall came and I photographed some of my favorite families, and referred new ones out. And it was good!
I don’t know where the future of Photography by Caitlin Domanico, LLC is headed, but I not concerned. It will all happen as it is supposed to! So for now, THANK YOU to all of you who made it this far. Thank you to so many of you who are still right by my side- your support has always meant the world to me! I will schedule a few clients per year, teach a few lessons per year, and see how it all goes! If you are a new potential client, I apologize for not having space right now, but I am confident that you will find other awesome photographers to take care of your family!
