Last week, I had the distinct pleasure of capturing the beautiful Sarah of Sarah Schulte Photography. Sarah and her hubby are expecting their first baby later this fall (stay tuned for those photos!) and they could not be more excited. Sarah was a dream to photograph- natural and she needed no direction (wish I could say the same about myself!).

Congratulations, Sarah and John, I cannot wait to meet your precious little angel!

Ever feel stuck when planning for a session? So often I have clients email me photos of their children’s outfits, and one is usually classic/preppy and the other is more on the edgy side. Guess which one I pick?

Both!

Another wonderful thing about custom photography sessions is flexibility- bring a few outfits!

Several people have asked where we got the girls’ awesome boots—have no fear—they’re from Target!!! They had a bunch left the last time I was there, but I would not wait on these since my sister picked her pair up for Lily several weeks ago at this point!

Q: Caitlin, what should my newborn wear during her session?

A: I get asked this question all the time and the answer is quite simple- nothing! Okay, you can keep her in a diaper and blanket until I arrive, but beyond that, try not to get caught up in planning elaborate outfits because it will just overwhelm her and take away from her squishiness! I will bring wraps, swaddles, and cocoons, but aside from that, you could look for headbands or hats to have your child wear.

This adorable family were the other winners of our facebook photo contest!!!! I knew from her entry picture, Little C was going to be full of energy and personality, and though she appeared quiet at first, soon enough we had her dancing and “modeling”! She pulled out all her best moves and they were awesome!!!!!!
