Have you been to Peddler’s Village lately? Their 32nd Annual Scarecrow Competition is all set up and runs through October 24th. Besides the great shops, restaurants, and cute places to grab coffee or ice cream, the Scarecrows are always highly entertaining. While you’re in town, take the little ones to Giggleberry Faire!

Seriously Cool Stuff Saturday: Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue * Philadelphia Children’s Photography

Ava has been one lucky girl- she helped me review another DVD this month–Disney’s Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue. This movie has charm, excitement, and ends with a beautiful message that is so prevalent in Disney films- You don’t have to understand it, you just have to believe!   This action-packed movie kept Ava AND I entertained for the duration. I loved the star-studded cast (LOVE Kristin Chenoweth especially!!!).

In addition to this animated full-length film, there are several bonus sections!  There’s an exclusive sneak peek of “Tangled” a new movie based on “Rapunzel” (love!), almost fifteen minutes of deleted scenes, a flashback sequence that helps explain where Lizzy’s father is coming from, a short story “Lizzy’s Bedtime Story”, “Cat Attack”- another short story, this time featuring Mr. Twitches (the cat from the story), a music video–”How to Believe” (Ava LOVED this!!! We must have watched it 9 times), a really sweet mini-documentary showing children involved in a Fairy House design contest, and lastly, games–these were a bit too mature for Ava to figure out, but they were really sweet, I enjoyed them!

Another awesome movie by Disney—It’s funny when I look around and realize I am sitting with MY daughter doing the exact same thing I used to do with my mom, some 25 years ago. Of course, the video qualities have vastly improved since then, but the charm of an animated Disney film remains, as does the nostalgia and building of new memories!

Guess what I have for you?? A coupon for $10 off the Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack for this release from Disney Movie Rewards!!!!

Before she was ever introduced to Wendy and the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell met Lizzy, a girl with a

Hollow on a daring flight to London to save Tinker Bell and all of fairy kind.

Produced by DisneyToon Studios, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is a captivating

“Highly Recommended!” – DVDTalk.com

“This is the kind of movie that it seems Blu-ray was invented for.” – Table4Five.com

“The kids are absolutely head over heels with the movie.” -TheParentsWithStyle.com

“Unlike some other kiddie franchises, the Tinker Bell fairies pack a slightly edgier punch… which is a nice contrast to the constant cheerfulness and eternal optimism that can sap any hint of realism out of other kids’ movies.” – CommonSenseMedia.org

Ava and I had the pleasure of receiving a copy of Madeline’s Halloween & Other Spooky Tales this week. There is nothing better than reliving childhood favorites with your daughter, and even better when you can share new, updated versions with her. Since she’s just shy of 18 months, we had to break this dvd up in a few viewing sessions, but she was very captivated when it was on! It seems the people of Shout! Factory totally get this, because the dvd is divided in five segments- perfect!

Despite it’s title, it was not too scary, so Ava was able to enjoy it!

The opinions in this post are solely mine. I was not paid to post, I was given a complimentary copy of the DVD to facilitate this review.

PS-I just got my tickets for the Happy and Healthy Mom Fair @ The Please Touch Museum 9/19….will you be there?

Seriously Cool Stuff Saturday : Aden+Anais and AE77!

Posted on August 14, 2010

PhotobucketJust be prepared for a few weeks of obsessing over AE’s new baby and kid line of clothing. It’s not even funny how much they “get” my style for my daughter. Pretty much the only thing I don’t love are the toddler mini skirts, but besides that, bring it!

I have a major love for Aden + Anais swaddle blankets- any of my newborn clients will agree- they have seen my stash!

Look! New patterns! I am not sure but I think they’re exclusive to AE77?

We have been making a big effort to get familiar with our local farms. So far we have bought a ton of produce, and a ton of homemade ice cream and milk. Our next step is eggs and hopefully meat. Last week, we checked out Maple Acres Farm in Plymouth Meeting. They seem to have it all- fresh produce, meat, eggs, milk, gifts, and pick-your-own zinnias!

Check Ava out as she runs through the flowers!
