When it comes to maternity sessions, I always encourage mommies to wear relatively form-fitting shirts to show off their ever-growing bump.  After doing M’s photos this past weekend, I realized another very important tip that I often leave out—be true to you- incorporate your own personal style into your outfit-whether it’s funky jewelry, or in M’s case- a cute scarf and gloves!

Let’s talk texture. When choosing an outfit for your child’s photography session, consider outfits that will photograph nicely—-knit fabrics look much better than shiny fabrics, and if you’re feeling daring, step out of your normal old cotton routine! I found this awesome little outfit at Old Navy last winter and bought the appropriate size for this year. It was in their winter clearance and was mega cheap!

Hats, hoods, and scarves (on older kids) look great in photos and frame the face beautifully!

Fall is officially in the air and I’m loving the pumpkin-spice lattes, the morning chill, and comfy, warm sweaters. A quick search on etsy lead me to some sweet finds….check them out!

These leg warmers are great in place of tights or pants, and especially come in handy when autumn days begin with a chill and end with warm sun. We are not quite there yet, but I hear they’re fabulous for potty training- easy access to the potty!!
