About Me

Oh, hey!
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet! I am excited to learn more about you and your family to help you create a perfect custom photography session!
I have been in business since the fall of 2007 and time has FLOWN by.
Here is a little about the lady behind the lens~
C- Charismatic. Call it bubbly, “full of life”, always on the go….that’s me, to a T!
A- Ava is my daughter’s name. She was born in April 2009 and is a carbon copy of me, with my husband’s eyes. She’s wild and feisty, sweet and sassy!
I- I’m obsessed with family. I had a wonderful loving family while growing up. My mom died when I was 20 and it has deeply affected the way I live and how I parent my daughter. The bond we had was extremely tight and it feels good to feel it again in Ava. I have a sister (who gave me a beautiful red-headed niece) and a brother (just graduated from college), and my dad and step-mom live in TX! I have an amazing husband who came with a huge extended family which I love. I also have tons of “fake” family and they are some of my most favorite people on Earth! Oh goodness, I almost forgot, we have two wiener dogs and two cats (Stretch, Rambo, Hank and Betty Dee). Even though they eat my shoes and peony pants and occasionally tinkle on the floor when excited (the dogs), I love all of them to death and we would be so lonely without them:)!
T- Teacher. Yup, I am also a teacher. I have a bachelor’s in elementary education, a master’s in education, and certifications in elementary education and special education. I work with 3-5 year olds with special needs and have for the last five years. I started working with children with special needs when I was in junior high- volunteering in life skills classrooms. Since then, I’ve worked with all kinds of kids, typical, varying abilities, mental health, 3 year olds, 19 year olds, you name it!
L- Love. I really enjoy love. I love the love between a newly engaged couple. I love the love between a dad and his new baby. I love the love between expectant parents and mama’s belly! I love, love, love looking at families from an outside perspective, and creating art based on their natural interactions. I love when people email me to tell me they can’t stop crying because they love their pictures so much. I love when clients refer their friends and family. I love when clients return to me for their second, third, FOURTH session!!!!!
I- Intestines. I know, ew. What? I have Crohns disease. I have had it since I was about 11 years old and went to CHOP annually until I turned 18. During my senior year of college, I became very sick and ended up needing a small bowel resection the next year for 3 partial bowel obstructions. Awesome, huh? Knock on wood, I’ve been feeling WONDERFUL ever since then (’06)!!!
N- N is for…..no more ideas! So, I will pretend my name ends with an F~ FOOD! I love food! In college, I didn’t know how to cook, not even a stinkin’ taco. My poor hubby scarfed down some nasty dishes in the past (all with encouraging words!!). I’ve taught myself to cook by leaching off my (fake family) aunt, reading cookbooks, watching cooking shows, and by plain old experimenting. We are working on eating clean as much as possible, eating a billion veggies per day, getting a decent fruit intake per day, and cutting out processed foods altogether. I also like to drink 3+ nalgene bottles of water per day, YUM! My daughter also loves food and it’s just awesome. Eggplant parm? Sure. Chicken and blackbeans? Why not? Hummus? Bring it. Salsa? The more the better. Like I said, she’s my carbon copy!
