Welcome to PHOTO Tips Friday!!!
Photography Composition: Depth-of-Field
This week, I want to challenge you to play with your depth-of-field. So often, we are so intent on getting our child sharp and in focus, that we forget to focus on other items in the image. By altering your depth-of-field, you can create a different feel or impact in your photograph. If you are shooting on aperture or manual mode, you will want to “open your lens” as much as you can to create a greater depth-of-field. Maybe your lens opens to f1.4 or f1.8- try it! Maybe your lens opens to f3.5- try that! If you want even more of an impact, try to move your object further away from the background.
What are your biggest photographic frustrations? List yours in our comment box down below!
You can do it!!!! If you are still having difficulty, you may want to join us in one of our Photography Workshops for Women. All workshops are in our studio in North Wales, PA, just a quick ride North from Philadelphia.
