Welcome to Monday Musings by Caitlin Domanico!
Today you turn five. Five. Five-years-old. I feel like I blinked and my tiny little baby has grown into a smart, vivacious, beautiful little girl. A little girl who is on her way to kindergarten. A little girl who is a big sister. A little girl who has a heart the size of Texas. A little girl that has a sense of humor that keeps us all laughing. A little girl that has a spunk like no other.
Life is amazing.
They say to enjoy every minute and I try.
They say your babies grow too quickly, and they do.
But what they do not tell you, is how your babies will shape you, teach you, and fulfill you.
Ava, on your birthday, I hope you feel the incredible amount of love we have for you.
In five short years, you have learned to read people, and you respond with empathy. You care about your friends, your cousins, your sister. You care about people in need. You care about the Earth. You care about animals. You will never lose that skill, and in fact, it will only grow stronger. You will change the world one day, my darling.
When I say you will change the world, I do not mean that you will discover the cure to cancer, but if that becomes your passion, you just might. Maybe you will inspire and love your own family one day. I hope you do.
Maybe you will inspire others in your own community. I hope you do.
Maybe your reach will be far greater. No matter what your path is, we will be right behind you, ready to support you, to help you when you need it, and to catch you if you fall.
Five was one of my favorite ages. I loved kindergarten, learning to read, riding a bike, and playing, playing, playing.
I hope this year is filled with love, learning, and incredible amounts of laughter.
Thank you for being a light in our family, Ava. Your infectious smile, your endless chatter, your deep thoughts, and your silly antics inspire us to try to be better parents, better people.
With all of my love, darling,
Thank you to all who voted for us!!!! We WON!!!
