They say time flies but sometimes that phrase just seems to be mocking us. One day, our squishy, sleepy babies are nuzzled in our arms, dependent on us for their every want and need. Then you blink and your baby girl is wearing a 4t, has long curly hair, has a personality that provides constant entertainment, and next thing you know, she has completed her first year of preschool. This year, she was a “Kitten”- she made some wonderful friends, learned quite a bit (um she can tell you the colors of the rainbow IN ORDER!), and had two teachers that not only nurtured her, but continued to foster her love of learning. As a special ed teacher in early intervention, all I ever wanted for my child’s preschool experience were the following: age-appropriate curriculum and respectful, nurturing teachers. I am so incredibly happy and thankful to her teachers, Miss Pam and Miss Margaret, and to her school, for providing a safe, loving environment for her to learn, learn, learn!
Ava’s off for the summer now, and since I only work two weeks in June and a little in July, she has a line-up of playdates with her cousin Colin, her cousin Lily, and her Aunt Connie- she is pumped! Best yet, she and I get three blissful weeks off together, starting on June 14, yeahhhhhhh!
